come to think of it – I’ve filled out many TCK research questionnairs over the past months, but none of them ever had any specified questions inquiring into one’s economic situation. So I’m not sure if any such distinctions have been made yet.

If anyone out there still plans to do some research, don’t forget economics factors – I think they’re very relevant to how we deal with our other “problems”.

Hi,

I’m writing my mémoire here in Geneva. I was wondering if any of you know about any research conducted on what I may call “élite migrants” (i.e. élite migrants = anyone who goes to another country and isn’t a regular immigrant coming from poorer countries if yous see what I mean) and bilingualism/plurilingualism.

There are many studies about regular immigrants and plurilingualism, but less on the élite immigrants.

I’d really appreciate if you guys have an idea of where to look.

Hi Brice,
I’m doing a dissertation on the difference between first and third culture kids in relationships [in terms of commitment, marriage age, duration of relationships and number of partners before marriage etc.] and need some statistics, where would you recommend finding this? Ruth Useem has done some interesting stuffy but I need a variety of sources.

I am planning to do a research on TCK already starting, I am a Master Student in Educational and Social Research with the University of London External Services.

Maira, THANK YOU for posting that link. =) I’ve just spent a good half hour reading all of it, and I cannot believe just how much research has been done and alo how much I can actually relate to it. This has been one of my biggest eye-openers so far, so thank you for that.

Now I can actually explain properly to my mother why I want to become a journalist and not a dentist. XDD
