LOL! I was just thinking of that last night Brice! I wanted to tell you you should add a Blog section in here somewhere so I can rant all I want about how I'm a TCK and how it's hard getting stuck for a while LOL!

Ah, can you read minds Brice? Or did Uncle Dan read my mind then told you? xD
  • Margie
    Brice,
I don't know if I should be offended or not - but you didn't include the blogsite for Among Worlds! :-)

BTW - we have a listing of some TCK blogsites there.

Someone (I wish I had time to do this) needs to compile a listing of ALL TCK blogsites, websites, etc.!

  • Margie
ooooopssss...I just did a "Brice" - forgot to include the blogsite. It is amongworlds.blogspot.com
    MU
  • My blog(s) are minako06.livejournal.com (though I won't be able to access it when I go to China in February) but my other ones are
    www.myotaku.com/users/minako
    hildydoo.vox.com
  • I have a blog, at http://wanderlusttck.blogspot.com/
I only just started it though, so there aren't many posts for now...
  • kristine
I blog too, except it's mainly about me ranting about something crappy (or good) that happened in the day.. but now that i think of it, i shall make a tck blog soon bwahahaha.
  • Uncle Dan
I kept a LiveJournal once. I never update it anymore because no one reads it, but I do write Facebook Notes. Still, the LJ had some interesting TCK posts before I found out about the term. I kept it going while I was in the US, having my crash and burn experience.
  • mairabay
hey, I have a blog...I dont give the address to everyone, but since you are my family and my friends, why not?
I dont write on it very often, but lately its been all related to my TCK issues
I write half in English, half in French and half in Portuguese, sometimes in just one language though
    voilà: http://mairabay.multiply.com/blog
  • I have a blog that has the variety of my life on it... Most of the recent stuff is from my time here in Turkey, but there's political, religious, poetic, humorous, and totally random scattered through it too.

    http://spreadthewordtoall.blogspot.com/
  • I own both the "Tess" LJ as well as Culture in the Blender. I started Culture in the Blender as an outlet for TCK=related thoughts only, because they were taking over my LJ, and I got the LJ primarily to stay in touch with my college friends after we graduated. Many of my LJ posts are friends only, so don't expect that one to be very interesting.

I moved Culture in the Blender from Blogger to hosting on my own site. There's a notice on the Blogger version, but Culture in the Blender can now be found at http://blog.globalistgirl.net/ .

I also started an online detailed recipe collection. At the moment, it's tiny - but if anyone would like to share their favorite recipes along with detailed instructions and/or pictures of what you really need to do to make the dish, sign up for an acocunt and add it! I think we all have our regional favorites that assume many things that might not occur to someone outside that region to do. I'm hoping my cooking site can help people who haven't cooked a particular cuisine do it right, just with the recipe. So whoever finds that shwarma recipe, post it for the rest of us :D
  • Mine's www.malaysian-at-heart.blogspot.com
Mainly for it's me to keep in touch with my mates and just update them on what's happening with me (cuz the time difference likes to bite us all in the ass, and I can't usually meet them online everday or whatever) but my own TCKness is plays a big part in my posts. I usually add in anything new/funny whenever I come by them. Hopefully they get immortalised on my blog for all time. =)
  • Here's another TCK blog for you: http://widsith.wordpress.com

    Thanks :)
  • Mine is http://third-culture-kid.com/. I started it as an outlet for exploring my experiences as a TCK. I love creative writing, so my blog is also an outlet for some of this 'creativity'.
  • I have a blog -- http://sindhujamanohar.blogspot.com

I write on a variety of topics, and they are all influenced by my TCK-ness.
  • Emily Tenna
Hi, there, I have an adult TCK blog: http://myasianside@blogspot.com

I echo Sindhu's sentiment that I write on a variety of topics, most influenced by my TCK-ness, and Susie's statement on using her blog to explore and share her creativity. Wow, maybe I've found a few kindred souls laready, gotta head over and check out their blogs!

A suggestion to the site manager: You may want to divide up the blogs into two categories: TCK and ATCK, to make it easier for your many readers to find their way to blogs they will related to more quickly?
  • Emily Tenna
ooops! that link to my blog is: http://myasianside.blogspot.com/
duh! don't even know my own site address, how tck is that?!?! lol!
  • Emily Bartz
My blog is http://phusaza.blogspot.com/. PHUSAZA stands for Philippines, United States of America, and South Africa. Though I probably should add UK now.
  • Please add mine www.thecollegewarrior.com !

    I am a diplomat brat.
  • Uncle Dan
arakattack.livejournal.com is another. That's me... more or less.
  • Hello, I am a Guatemalan Jewish TCK. I would love my blog to be included on the list...

    http://mayatalk.wordpress.com
  • Ayako
Typical of a TCK it took me this long to figure out what it was I was good at doing and enjoy doing.

I love cooking using techniques and ingredients from all over the world and would like to believe that life is one big culinary adventure....so I've started this food blog this year:

    Samurai Viking Cuisine

The title of the blog is a bit tongue in cheek as neither the Japanese nor Swedes like to be called Samurai or Viking but the title does also convey the cross-cultural aspects of my food blog.

I've also mentioned that I'm a TCK in the blog and will talk about this topic as well as use my blog to announce events happening at TCKID.

If you love food, I'd like to invite you to visit my blog and leave comments there.

    Thanks.

I just updated our list of blogs along with a long backlog of links that should have been posted a long time ago. Sorry I couldn't have done this sooner but I only noticed the backlog now.

I'm going to list the new links here and if your blog is missing email me at ayako@tckid.com with the URL of your blog and I'll make sure it's up there as soon as possible.

  • Hello! I am a new member and would appreciate being included on the list. My blog has a lot of photos and centers on food and (mostly) French culture, from an outsider, TCK viewpoint. I look forward to visiting the others on the list!

    Thanks...

    http://www.boliviabella.com/Bolivia-blog.html

I'll be adding a link back to you on the TCK Resources page I have on my site. Why duplicate when I can refer everyone to the best!

Thank you Brice for your initiative!!!!!!!
  • I've been blogging since 2006 about my crazy TCK life.
My mom is from the USA, my dad is French and I spent nearly all my life in Burkina Faso. We just recently moved "back" to France, but it's much stranger to me than Africa, because I left when I was a baby!
This site is great and I'd love to have my blog included.
    Thanks!

  • I'm now 19 and experiencing being a dad. I must say although it feels good it's still hard. I knew it wouldn't be easy but to be honest, the hard part is having to balance time. My daughter is great and makes managing her never dreadful. -Teen dad
