Since I don’t know Italian or Spanish or German or even French, I am going to start a thread with a language I know - Mandarin!  I know there are a lot of people learning Chinese out there so this may be a good opportunity to learn :D

So, let’s start!

大家好!我的名字叫Cynthia!很高興認識你!

其實我的中文能力比我的英文差,我比較容易用英文表達我自己的想法。

Anyways,希望許多人能借此機會多多學習你們的中文能力!祝你好運!

你们怎么了? Actually means “What is wrong with you?”

你好吗? Means “How are you?” (I think this is what you meant?)

一店店 should be “一点点” (店 means shop)

先在我学习中文在苏州大学. To be grammatically correct should be 现在我在苏州大学学习中文!

Hope you don’t mind me correcting you!

And yes quite impressive your Chinese ability :)

Marie if you want to start learning Chinese try podcasts like www.chinesepod.com (there are others but this one is the one I use). It’s very entertaining and quite useful to start getting used to the language.

    我叫Jessica。 我是法国人。 我的家在伦敦。 我不回说汉语。I can’t speak or write much Chinese :-) but it’s a fantastically fun language to learn!

Today I was working at my ice rink and a crowd of Chinese people came, so I got really excited, because I could understand a decent portion of their conversation.
Anyway, on the way out, the kids were dropping off their rental skates, and the mother told the daughter (in Chinese) to give the skates to “jiejie.”
I got called eldest sister today.
    I feel old.
And then I went and scared the bejesus out of the girl by saying “Xiexie, meimei.” All the kids were actually scared of me the second I spoke Chinese–all the parents were just fine with it…
    Odd day.

Were they scared or did they just stare? Staring is one thing, scared is another LOL

No, the girl actually ran and hid behind her mother…
Only one kid didn’t duck for cover, because she was asking her father how I knew Chinese.
