TCK research/dissertations

Hey guys! I’m a TCK and I’ve read quite a few posts here and on Facebook about how people are doing papers and dissertations on TCKs. I’m actually writing a final paper for my Sociology of Adolescence class on TCKs, but I’m having some trouble finding research on TCKs in academic journals. Do you guys that are also writing papers or have written papers have any recommendations for journals or researchers, or even search words that turn up TCK research? Thanks so much for your help!

I was born in Rousse, Bulgaria, and moved to Chicago when I was six. I spent summers in Bulgaria, then moved to New York for college, then spent a semester in Florence. I'm thinking about going to grad school in the Netherlands in a year! I'm studying film, sociology, european studies, and creative writing and i find a way to focus all those things on youth and the media basically! I'm also getting a very severe case of wanderlust right now, like I do every summer....

I feel your pain in not finding a lot written about TCKs in the scholarly literature. I’m a professor, doing research on TCKs. I have an article coming out in May in the journal, Illness, Crisis & Loss, that’s titled “Loss and Grief Between and Among Cultures: The Experience of Third Culture Kids.” If you don’t have it at your university library, I’m suare you can get a copy through interlibrary loan. It’s volume 16, issue Number 2, and the page numbers are 93 - 109. You can check the reference list for other scholarly sources. I have some in my office (I’m at home) and if you want to contact me, I can look through and identify others. I was looking for a particular focus, so my list won’t be exhaustive. I’ll be out of town, for pretty much the next month, so sorry if I don’t “produce” until then.
