TCK Meetup in Los Angeles LA

Hi All!
I live near Los Angeles, California, and I am wondering if any of you guys are interested in meeting up in LA (Perhaps for the first time? I don’t know if this has been done before).
Please reply with your:
1. Age
2. Current school year/or write if you’re working
3. City you live in
4. Time frame of when you would like to meet up.
5. Also, would there be a specific topic that you would like to discuss during the meeting?I think this would be awesome so we can just talk about the life of being a TCK.
I’ll start with myself:
1. 23
2. Graduated uni in 2006
3. San Bernardino
4. I am doing a few projects here and there so my time is very flexible.
5. I would love to just meet everyone and hear everyone’s story about their experience living overseas, and/or if LA is where you’re placed from another country.

Well, count me out. I don’t drive and it would take me hours to get there on public transit.

Oregan is really beautiful but in general much more relaxed & smaller than L.A. life.
L.A. has bad smog, crazy traffic & not the greatest restaurants IMO. But seeing as you like Persian/East Indian/Middle Eastern women you will probably dig L.A. more than Oregan - at least for dating lol
Great produce, quirky characters - I love West L.A.. I could definately have this city as my base if I was to be inter-continental…

Hi all again!
Ok, so here’s the plan:
At 7pm, on the 21st of May, we will meet at Inka Trails Peruvian Restaurant in Claremont for dinner. I think this might be a nice way to get together with our international background. The price is not too expensive, but it seems that with the food that we’re getting, from looking at the pictures, the price is good. I’ve never had Peruvian food before, so it would be a great experience.

The website says that it closes at 9pm, so, if we still want to talk, we can do a short, 6 minutes drive to either the lounge at Hotel Casa 425 (http://www.casa425.com/) or Hip Kitty Jazz and Fondue (http://www.hipkittyjazz.com/). Also, there are lots of other places we can meet up, not only at those two. However, we can talk about that later once everyone’s met up at the restaurant.
Claremont is known for its small, street-front stores and botiques. It is also a very, nice, cozy place to live in, with entertainment and colleges nearby. Also, due to the geographic location of Claremont, it would be more centered and fair for the majority of the people getting to Claremont for the meet.
For those that haven’t given me their e-mail address, you can still give me address if you want an e-mail reminder when the date draws closer.
E-mail addresses given to me will not be abused, and will only be used for occasions such as the TCK-LA meet-up.

Also, I’d like to get a rough head-count just so we all know how many to expect. However, for new people just deciding to drop in without prior notice, just drop on by!

I had lunch with a fellow L.A. TCK this week here in L.A. proper. He made a good point about Orange County not being L.A. proper and should probably have it’s own section for meet-ups so folks out West know they can hang out with each other more easily. Orange County is too far for us to drive out too and L.A. is too far out for most O.C. cats to drive to so yeah, it was just a thought to make things easier on everyone.

haha this is within walking distance of my house. Unfortunately, I’m supposed to be gone that night. I’ll see if I can wiggle around it. Although I could use some tips on how to explain to my parents that I’m going to meet people I met on the Internet. lol.
