Spreading the word and educating others about TCKs?

There’s still a lot of ignorance out there about what is a Third Culture Kid and many people, including TCKs, are still unaware of the resources and support available for them.

Would you like to help spread the word and educate others about the experience of being a TCK and let them know there is support for them?

    I would!
    I say let’s start with international schools across the world.
    We should get everyone on this board who attends or has attended international schools to tell all their friends.
    It might not be enough to get everyone, but it would be quick and it would make our army big in no time! (lol sorry im obsessed with dumbledore’s army.)

    is it only me who thinks that globalization would destroy indevidual cultures by blending them in?

    the nomad: I don’t think it’ll destroy or ruin individual cultures. We are talking about people who have assimilated into their lives 2, 3 different kinds of cultures. Personally, I think that my life as a TCK has contributed to a better understanding and appreciation of each cultures individual characteristics and the importance of these cultures, rather than the destruction of the said cultures =)

    The nomad: Just curious. Where are you getting this “globalization would destroy indevidual cultures by blending them in?” from? There was an Austrian guy at InterNations who said those exact words (almost exactly anyway). I’m just curious if some book or person is spreading this idea in the world? :)

    Ayako, I have no friggin clue… I dont even know what location I picked it up at either. thing is im equally for and against glibalization and I could actually wage an hour long debate against myself/ others on this issue; among other topics. I brought up the idea because no one had argued it yet and I can elaborate if you insist… But I’m typing this on a cellphone and its a bit of a pain to write out whole arguments (and I’m lazy)

    If you don’t mind the nomad, I’d like to take your point on globalisation and use it as a post here because I’m also for and against globalisation, but I’m not longer sure of what I’m arguing for anymore, lol. It’d be an interesting topic!

    Mish.wsl: I’d like to encourage you to go ahead and start your post. You might start out by defining the term ‘globalization’ in your argument so we know exactly what you mean by this word in this particular context. :) Perhaps you can start out by saying: I decided to start this post out after reading the nomad’s post in ‘Spreading the word and educating others’…(if you feel a need to reference ‘the nomad’).
