nyc meet-up
Hey guys!I’m a TCK from bulgaria/chicago now living in nyc. I went to an IB school in chicago and all my friends were TCKs pretty much, but i don’t know any tcks in nyc! Would any TCKs in the area be interested in organizing a meet-up event of some kind? Has anyone ever done this before? I’m not really sure how it works, but I’m sure we can make it happen!

I was born in Rousse, Bulgaria, and moved to Chicago when I was six. I spent summers in Bulgaria, then moved to New York for college, then spent a semester in Florence. I'm thinking about going to grad school in the Netherlands in a year! I'm studying film, sociology, european studies, and creative writing and i find a way to focus all those things on youth and the media basically! there has got to be more NYC tck’s than us two… lol. have you ever been to any sort of a tck meetup? i have no idea how to organize one, but i figure it can’t be that hard, right?

Hi, I’m also in NYC and one of the only TCks here that I know of.
I know there must be more of us around, but we’re a reclusive bunch…or maybe that’s just me.
But, definitely a meetup should be made…maybe I can make it 4 of us??!

Hi there! I just joined this group and live in NYC as well. Haven’t really done anything with my profile but I’m an American who moved to the Netherlands when I was 14 b/c my step-father was a uni professor and changed jobs. Anyway, I’d love to do some kind of meet up. It’s funny because virtually all of my friends in NYC are American but with some kind of international interest (love traveling, work in int’l merchandising, etc). Guess living abroad affected me more than I thought!

hi melissac, i live in Champaign, IL 3 hours away from Chicago. I don’t really know if there is a specific support group in Chicago for TCK’s but we are organizing TCK meet-ups here at the U of I university campus

MeetUp.com is a good site to do this through.
I’ve been MIA for the summer struggling with my own wanderlust but I was recently thinking about starting the NYC Third Culture Kid MeetUp group on the site.
I’ve never done this before and I’m kind of nervous…hopefully we can get this up and going and see what develops.
Any advice or suggestions anyone?

I set up a NYC TCK/CCK group on MeetUp.com
The first meet up is planned for Thursday Nov.6th @ 7 in Tribecca.

InterNations also hosts monthly gatherings. I went to the October gathering last Thursday and it was amazing to see so many “internationals” in one room.
