no cure for wanderlust!

I came home from overseas forty years ago and have lived in San Francisco for over thirty years. I can’t stop traveling! I have gone to England six times over twenty years and went to Istanbul last year. I am ready to go back and live there permanently.
My brother goes to Europe at the drop of a hat and my sister has been there four times, just this past summer she went back to Paris. I see photos of places and want to hop on a plane and go. My friends who have never been out of the US just don’t get it. I love the airports I land in,love the thrill of taking off and landing in a new country. When my father was in the diplomatic service,I saw seventeen countries and thirty four cities in seven years. I admit I suffer from constant wanderlust. I am a peripatetic soul and always will be.My fondest memories of my travels are not just photos and things I have bought, but also friends I have made on my travels and that indescribable something that comes from exploring the unknown waiting for me.

actually, the title was no CURE for wanderlust!I stayed here cause my whole family moved here, bit by bit. My sister was in Hong Kong, came for vacation and moved here in 78. she is married and has three kids.I went to school here and graduated in 1980. so my roots are here now, although,I am thinking of retiring in Turkey!Time for another trip next year to check it out.where did you live and where are you now?

What made you decide to stay in SF for 30 years? You know.. it's interesting, because I notice how kids of Diplomats are often more affected by the travel bug. For me, I get the 4 year itch... after that, I really feel like changing the scene. How long is it for you?
