My Master’s Thesis- about 3KCs, can you help me?

My name is Tracy and I have one class left and need to finish my thesis before I get my Master’s in Bilingual/Multicultural Education.  I’m so thankful its almost over, and the degree has been very flexible so far as to let me choose topics for my papers that really affect me and my family.  For instance, my husband and I went to India this summer on a Missionary trip to a Christian school.  And the quarter before we went, I needed to write a 20 page paper on any aspect of ESL, so I researched the teaching methods of ESL in India, and it really helped prepare me for the mission!  It was great!

Likewise, my husband and I know we’re called for overseas missions in the future, and we don’t have kids now, but will (hopefully) :)

So, for my master’s thesis, I really want to research and interview 3KCs because our kids will be 3KCs! 

Likewise, I spent sometime living in Sao Paulo, Brasil when I was younger and can relate to the sentiments of some posts I’ve read here.  I especially felt more like 3KCs went I first reentered the US.  And if I had reentered when I was younger (not 23) like I did, I’m sure I would’ve experienced even more.  But as it was, I was naturally transitioning from junior college to the university, so arriving the first day-friendles and a little startled, was I guess… anticipated. 

Individually, I’ve been overseas a lot, and so has my husband, so we already don’t feel quite American-in the since that Americans seem to care more about things rather than relationships (in my experience) more than in other cultures (or more than in the cultures that I’ve experienced).  Likewise, it seems like some if not many- Americans care a lot having nice things- we throw away shoes instead of gettin them repaired, for example. 

Anyway, if anyone has time to help me, I would really love to interview you for my paper.  I need your help.

Also, the more I research, the more I realize that maybe my topic: “challenges faced by 3KCs” is too general, and maybe its BEEN DONE, a lot already.  If you agree, then let me know some suggestions of things that YOU really want to know…. and perhaps… if you’re convincing enough…. I will change my thesis proposal and research something that applies to your needs more greatly and that is more cutting-edge.

    I agree with Ayako, an email could be a good catalyst for responses.

    Also, I think “3KCs” are “Third-(3) KC= Culture Kids inverted??”

    Sounds like there is a lot to get to with this post!
