Well unlike most folks here, I do enjoy country. Chalk it up to being born in Texas and having been to two of Willy Nelson's Fourth of July Barbecues. Those were always the big event in Texas, and my parents took us when we could.

I also like a lot of other music, Rap, Rock, Metal, British Hip Hop (can't stand the american stuff but Akira the Don, Narstie, and Marvin the Martian are great), Happy Hardcore (not actually hardcore, a variant of Techno), Reggaeton, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Jimmy Buffet style beach music (not sure where to stick him), hymns, gospel, and African Spiritual (well only Ladysmith Blacksnake Mambazo if you want to get technical).

Current favorite songs/artists?

I Feel Like Dancing - Tony Wylie and Island (two of my friends from Trinidad are in this Soca band, they played two shows in Florida last year and we had a grand old party every time they came up)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auOuxFE1ZUg

Nessaja - Scooter (hilarious german Techno/Happy Hardcore band, I often wonder if they consider what the lyrics mean when they say this stuff.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wquCCFvbNhI

Back In The Day - Akira the Don (British hip hop at it's best, except maybe the next song)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY3jvUjb_As

Post 9/11 Blues - MC Rizz (Another great British hip hop song, dealing with the new terror obsessed mindset)

Everything and anything. :P
Pop, rock, country, some dance music is good, a bit of RnB and some Rap songs are okay, but I generally don't like most. I like canto/mando pop, even though I can't understand what they're saying. African kwaito is alright, I guess some songs are definitely better than others. African gospel- ROCKS MY SOCKS. :P

I love jazz, all jazz....

I pretty much like anything EXCEPT:

1. Gangster Rap
2. Country (except Johnny Cash)
3. Techno/electronica (which sucks for any clubs in europe).

Other than that i'm pretty easy...most music I have is in languages I don't understand..I like to understand what they're saying but if the beat is good then it's good.

I often tell people I'll listen to anything as long as it's good. It's *mostly* true, though I know I'm biased sometimes.

My first love was techno/trance/house and in ways, it still is. My preferences shifted from Trance to House, though I always, always loved Disco.

I used to like some Hip Hop and Rn'B, but that taste died a *lot* in the US, where it's overplayed. I don't mind it when I go out, because it's good for dancing with people, but I don't listen to it in my spare time.

When I was a teenager, I liked heavy metal. Sometimes, I still do. It's changed a lot in the last 10 years though, so I feel like a geezer when I mention it.

As for the rest, I can't really name artists. I love and play jazz, but not enough to buy CDs and follow artists.

My time in Switzerland has given me a taste for music from a variety of cultures too. I've danced and sang to Norwegian, Spanish, Brazilian, Croatian, Bulgarian, Arab, Turkish, Japanese and Indian dance music, though most of the songs I never actually had myself. I hear it and know it.

I love jazz (be-bop). I worship Dizzy Gillespie & Charlie Parker.

I don't listen to hip-hop, reggae or rap. Just can't get into it.

I love Mozart.

I listen to rock 'n roll & pops but it's not like I love it.
