Merry Christmas everywhere!
Hi everyone,
I’m Rain, or many of my friends address me with my middle names, MY. I’m a TCK~ (kinda boring to say I AM one while I join this group :P)
I found out the whole TCK things from the facebook group (God bless facebook, it’s a great place for finding old TCK friends and all others!!!) about 5 minutes ago and I can’t wait to join the group and say Hi to everyone! Merry Christmas folks!!
Now, I should say something about myself. My dad is Anglo-franco-chinese and my mum is Anglo-german. I was born in Sheffield UK where my grandparents spent their merely their whole life at. Yet apparently while my mother was pregnant with me, she was travelling in Frankfurt, Sheffield and Hawaii! And then as a baby/kid, I moved about in Europe for quite a few times since my mother is a German Diplomat.
Then while I’m at age of six, I was moving back to UK and spent some years in the pretty nice campus in cardiff. Then following my dad’s business plan and mum’s rotation, I attended Frankfurt International school in Frankfurt, International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo, Maryknoll Convent School in Hong Kong and Highschool of Economic & Finance in New York.
I went to college in Michigan and Hong Kong; 3 years of which were spent at University of Michigan and one year as exchange student in Hong Kong Baptist University. Upon graduation in ‘05, I decided to move to Hong Kong to further my career in Finance field. I love being in Hong Kong and made a lot of new friends with interesting backgrounds and visions.
While I meet new friends or new colleagues, people tends to ask, “where are you from?” or “where did you grow up?” I am very confused and usually take me a long time before replying because that question is like a multiple choice question on a test. A. Sheffield (where I born and I did spent some time) B. Hong Kong (current residence) C. Long story, but if you’ve got time to listen then I will tell it. D. Everywhere. Well, I must admit that I usually would skip this question and go on with another question on the list. Hahaha
Well, I hope I have made it brief enough for you. I’m looking forward to talk more with all of you if I get a chance!

Hey Rain! Nice name haha. Is it pronounced like rain, as in rain the falls from the sky kinda thing? Haha, hey, it CAN be different haha.
anyways.. rain, you’re not the only one with that problem. answering that question i mean. LOL! i just say i grew up on earth. makes it easier, and it makes sense : )

Hey Rain, welcome to the group. I love your name, I always wished my parents could have named me something nicer lol. I hate my full name, hence the shortened version. I might see you in the chatroom one day…although now that I’m with the parents I don’t spend a lot of time online anymore lol.

I went to Rhydypennau (oh, these Welsh names!) from 87 to 88.
