It is all worth it!
Hi,
I am in my early twenties. Left South Africa when I was 2, lived in England, America and Austria before returning 8 years later. I have been in German, English and Afrikaans schools and am fully trilingual. Now my parents and siblings all live in Asia, and I am the only one left here.
I know it is sometimes difficult to make friends and expect to keep them (even now), but its all worth it. We TCK’s are blessed with a terrible burden that will keep us rising above the rest!

I agree - it is difficult to make close friends, but it’s worth making the effort.

Paula, it is very very difficult. I have yet to meet in RL a friend who is a TCK or who understands the hardships. All my friends have been born and raised in Australia.
