Inside Panda’s Head: TCK - Always behind everything

I have been inspired by Uncle Dan and Fetus’ randomness that I have decided to create a post that is *almost* random.

Now, I think we’ve all killed enough brain cells trying to figure out the inner and outer TCK of us let’s talk about something unrelated to TCK.

Since I am a huge gadget geek, let’s talk about gaming. The reason being that I am looking for a handheld device and also I just recently got hooked with Sims 2 (the original, not the expansion packs, I know I am 3 years late…but that’s the life of a TCK XD Always behind everything…hmm, maybe that should be our new motto!)

So, I am looking for a handheld device that can last me a while. Even though I am a gadget geek I don’t change my gadgets like I would change clothes. If I am happy and satisfied with my current gadget and it does not collapse over the 2nd to most up-to-date technology I’d still use it (I say 2nd to most because I know it won’t last the MOST up-to-date technology LOL).

  • My laptop is 6 years old (going on 7) - had it since college.
  • My camera is about 4 years old? They don’t make them bulky kinds any more :p  And the screen is like 1 inch or something haha!
  • My iPod is the 4th generation classic (thick with the four touch buttons on the top and the click wheel, you can kill someone with it if you throw it right) and just recently inherited my brother’s 1st generation iPod shuffle.
  • My cell phone is 2 years old going on 3 and doesn’t have bluetooth (but the battery is dying and I don’t know if they still sell batteries for this model LOL).

Ok I digress. So now I have to travel a total of 3 hours to and from work so I got lots of time to kill and entertain my brain cells. I have many choices but in China the PSP is a hot item - so should I go with the flow or are there better consoles?

Geek away!

I love gadgets, but I have a sense for the practical, you know? I can never really just get something just because it’s cool. Well, even if I do get it, there’s a voice which fights it all the way to the counter saying “You don’t neeeed it…”

I think it helps that I went to school with some people with a lot more money than me. Chinese-Indonesian kids in particular loved to show off their newest toys. I had a phone once, and this kid possibly 10 years younger than me asks me how much it costs. Next week he comes in with a brand new phone, one of the early Nokia ones you could play MP3s on which had a full keypad for writing SMSes.

Damn useless thing, especially for an 8-10 year old kid, even if we all used handphones more there than other places and at a younger age. But he liked to show it off and actually tell me that his was more expensive than mine. :P

OMG guys! I think my laptop died yesterday o.o

So what happened was I was trying to move the desk a little to make room for something and it so happened that the plug to my extension chord which my laptop is plugged into happened to be in the way of one of the table legs. Well I didn’t realize it was something that was in the way when I couldn’t move the table, I thought I was too tired and the table felt really heavy.

Well after several tugging I decided to take a look under the table to find what it was that’s causing the table to not move. Lo and behold, the plug (a pretty big one) pretty much stopped the table leg from budging and what happened was the leg moved the plug out of the socket, which subsequently turned off my laptop.

Normally (and I am sure many people do this) when you accidently unplug your computer you should be able to turn it back on, it just creates more damage to your hardware and software but whatever, it should turn back on. But not yesterday. My laptop refused to turn on. There was no reaction - nuttin’.

    I think it died.

Well, time to get a new laptop! WEEEEEEEEE~

    LOL
