‘Indian food’.

I’m fine when someone genuinely doesn’t like something but I get SO annoyed when people say they don’t like Indian food because they don’t like Chicken Tikke Masala (and then pronounce it wrong in the process). I spent 4 years in India and I didn’t eat that once. Or they call it ‘foreign muck’. I live off so called ‘foreign muck’. Its the only thing my mum can cook!Ring any bells?

North indian food is my fav…. *DROOL*
I can understand that some people don’t like it, but if it is just because they dont like tikke masala they are idiots. I had one friend who wasnt able to eat it because she just wasnt able to take all of the different flavours and spices.

She had a very monocyultural palate…. but then she went travelling in asia and eats indian now!

This site might be useful for making Samosas from scratch or if you can buy ready made filo pastry it’ll be much easier:

Also going to add this Youtube video link which will make it infinitely easier to follow the recipes:

Lol I know what you mean. Most people don’t know that chicken tikka masala was actually created in England and exported to India. Indian food is such a large category of food that for anyone to say they don’t like it is fairly beyond my comprehension. I’ve never had bad Indian food, I don’t know if it really exists. I’ve had fantastic and, less frequently, mediocre Indian food. In short, I love it.

ElizabethD: I had really bad Indian food in Buckinghamshire - I don’t know what it was they were serving in that restaurant frankly… :s

Naan and chapati are the best.
I’m starting to miss my roti canai/paratha and tisu back in Malaysia. If anyone has any advice on good Indian restaurants in perth, please let me know. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to even find a good Chinese restaurant much less Indian.
