Hungary-Kuwait-US-UK

Hello all,

I’m originally from Hungary. We first moved to Kuwait in 1989, and returned after the Gulf war and I grew up there during the 90s. I moved back to Hungary for high school for one year, then cried and begged my parents all year to let me go back to Kuwait, so I ended up completing high school there.

I started college in Hungary then finished it in the US, and lived there for 2.5 years. I worked in Kuwait for a year, then moved to Hungary to continue studying, then after two years I moved to the UK to do a masters. I’ve been back in Hungary for a bit over a year.

I really felt my social skills breaking down after college when I left the US. Even there I wasn’t a 100% comfotable, but since then I can’t stand to be anywhere for too long. I can count my friends on one hand, I’m completely introverted, quiet and mostly unhappy, despite having a life I should be thankful for. So I feel guilt too. I came to the point where I don’t even know where I want to be, just not where I am right now.

Anyway, hope to learn more about myself here and how other people are coping.

:o)

    I feel you! so much!!!
I’m also introverted, quiet, and usually unhappy (though lateley I’ve been improving that).
I also feel the same guilt you do.
And sometimes I still feel like I don’t know where I want to be, just not here.

It’s like you said, reading the posts and comments here REALLY helps. It has helped me a lot, in fact. If you also want to share your stories/wounds/confusions, that’s what we’re here for! :)

Also, (if you haven’t already) I highly recommend that you read the book (the one we have on our ‘home’ page).

We have a tradition here, which is to welcome newcomers with a funny picture.
