This survey is for a research project I’m doing to finish my degree in Education.  Its focus is on issues that TCKs face and ways that their teachers can help them.  I would appreciate any feedback you are able to give.  THANKS.

Name:

Age:

1. In your experiences, what are the greatest struggles or issues that Third Culture Kids face?

2. In what ways did your teachers help you with those struggles?

3. What are some things your teachers did that you wish they hadn’t?

4. Do you have any other suggestions for teachers who are working with Third Culture Kids?

5. Is there any background information that would be helpful to me?  Where are you currently living?  How long have you lived there?  How much time have you spent in your passport country?  What type of school do you attend?

Thank you again for your help.

Susan, I would have taken this survey but I honestly cannot recall a school teacher who helped me with my struggles that come from the TCK lifestyle. I can think of one private tutor who truly cared for me. He did not get my problems and at times I had frustrations because I further thought something was wrong with me. But he was huge help and support during the difficult times. I am not sure if my experience with the tutor can be applicable to your research.

I am so sorry to hear about that, but I am glad you were able to find help through your tutor. Could you pinpoint any of your frustrations? Do you have any ideas for ways that teachers could have been a help?

I appreciate your response, as it does provide important information.
