Favourite Weird WORDS
This post has 363 views
Ha, So I got really bored, and I was looking up the meaning of the word ’serendipity’ to see if it was translated in latin, for no particular reason, it wasnt, but thats a bit beside the point. Apparently its one of the top ten english words that is hardest to translate… only translated into ten other languages…
I got distracted and started to find some really funny words like confabulate, which just means to chat casually, and I was wondering if we could make a collection of funny words that we have stumbled upon on our travels!!
Here are some links to some of the sites I found with funny words:

and some of my new favourite words that I’m going to practice saying:
Backpfeifengesicht: a face that cries out for a fist in it. (German)
Farctate: Full (as from eating) to the point of bursting; completely satiated
Bafflegab: multiloquence characterized by consummate interfusion of circumlocution or periphrasis, inscrutability, and other familiar manifestations of abstruse expatiation commonly utilized for promulgations implementing Procrustean determinations by governmental bodies.” or incomprehensibility, ambiguity, verbosity and complexity”.
gongoozler: an idle spectator
gymnophoria: the sensation that someone is mentally undressing you
lethologica: the inability to recall the precise word or meaning of something
nelipot: someone who walks without shoes

Dan: In the part I lived in Swiss they say “hueregeil”… It’s crazy to have such different pronunciations in one language…
I like the swiss word “yklämmts”. It meens wordly “incarcerated” or “clamped” or something like this and we use it for sandwich. First time I lived in Germany I used it in German way “Eingeklemmtes” but nobody understood. LoL
