facebook is judging my identity!
This post has 218 views
has anyone else noticed how uncool it is that we now have to choose a hometown on our facebook profiles? before they made the change, i happily proclaimed that i was from plano, london, zurich, charlotte, sydney, and seattle. now if i enter all of that an error message appears that says “no matches found.”
and so i leave it blank. which i suppose is appropriate, since i don’t think i really do have a hometown. but not having one seems so much more sad and lonely than having many, does it not?
What do you think of this post?

I noticed it too.
I used to have: IRRI Staff Housing < —-My home town.
Now you have list a ‘real’ city or you get an error message so I no longer list a ‘home town’.

I put “it’s complicated, for now it’s Argentina :)”
But with the new lay out the seem to have removed it from my profile and I never bothered to put it back.

Someone will eventually write a long email to facebook explaining how their enforcement on one geographical location as hometown is discriminatory to our demographic :). Then it will change lol.
