Euro TCK Meet-Up?

So I was wondering if anyone would like to meet up for a second European TCK meet-up? I think the last one was 2006 or 2007? Either way, I think we’re due in for another. Please post a comment of where you’d like to meet, where you currently are (in case, per usual for TCKs, we have issues picking a location), and when you’re available!

  • ok, so if i say, a meet up in early febuary, in luxembourg, what would the rest of you say, since we dont seem to be getting anywhere with planning the meetup :)


    rafael: ah, it would except we are scattered all over the globe. It can get complicated in finding a time we are all available or in the area.

    Hi all. I just identified myself with the term TCK a few hours ago - so I have no idea what the TCK community is like. I'd definitely be interested in a TCK meet-up.
    It somehow seems to me, that TCKs don't meet to often - which I think is too bad. Doesn't a similar lifestyle bring people together?
  • actually, how many are there for the TCK meet up? we should probably get a round number of how many and then exchange emails so we can plan it properly.

    Luxembourg would be somewhat in the middle - I'd vote for that. Brussels would be fine too.

  • maybe we should try agreeing on a month first, before a place... some time early '09 so we all have time to get well priced tickets for those who have to fly, I would suggest.

  • it's a great place, great shopping, great night life, it's pretty huge. if your interested in sight seeing theres also loads of that to do, got a castle were you can see the royal jewels. been there a few times, really cool.
    As in most cities you need to watch yourself though because there is a certain amount of theivery.

    and if it's still open tivoli :D

    Denmark would be a great place to meet, in Copenhagen, V. recommended.

    But I would also be happy with London.

  • I'm good with Zurich for a weekend, got a few friends there I haven't seen in Donkey's :P
    I don't know if I can do England... it would depend on where... I'm not familiar with english geography to be quite honest but if it is near sheffield then I would be eager :D
    I'd vote for luxembourg or brussels too...

    Anyway, I'd be happy not to have to travel much, since I was actually the only one to fly last time.

    I reside in Zurich, Switzerland for the time being, and I'd happily recommend it for a meetup... if it weren't so expensive. Also, I know a fair number of TCKs here in Switzerland.

    But I'm pretty open. I'd love to go back to Brussels sometime.

    As it is, I'm open to a meeting, and am generally available anytime, so long as I know long enough beforehand to plan and book travel arrangements if necessary.

    So I'm currently in Canterbury, Kent (UK), and I personally would like to have the meet-up in Europe proper. I'm not picky about the place, but I haven't been outside the UK yet, so I'd like to get out and see the world. Unless we want to carry on the tradition of having it in London, like last time...
    I'm free every weekend from now until mid-December, and then I have a massive holiday for a month. So I'm quite available for whenever's best for everyone else.
