Do TCKs fit in anywhere? Or are we all weirdos?
This post has 874 views
Maira (the outstanding newcomer who read Dan’s thread in 3 days) just made a very very interesting comment I believe every TCK should read. She brought up some very interesting issues I bet most of us have had to deal with — “fitting in”.
I never wanted to be like the people are here. I spent my whole teen age fighting against it, doing as much as I could to be different from everyone else. I’ve always had very few friends, and even with them, I’d never share all my thoughts and feelings. I always had the feeling that “everyone hates me”.
So where do you fit in? What have you done to try to fit in somewhere?
What do you think of this post?

Sounds very english… hahaha… and yes it is pathetic… Any time people get so drunk they throw up and its not by accident, its pathetic… I don’t get whats impressive about drinking lots of alcohol.. If anything it just means you have to spend more when you go out, not a good thing in my student lifestyle hahaha…

I think Alastair made a good point.
It takes a while (and I’m still in that process) for us to fully accept (to ourselves and then to others) that we are not this ir that nationality (or ethnicity) and that we don’t HAVE to fit in any of those cultures.
Keep reading this forum and sharing your experiences. For me, that’s how I find my sense of belonging and “cultural balance”.
