Did you get funny questions from people?

I know that if you went to an international school or travelled a lot, you tend to get a lot of stupid and funny questions.

One of my favorite is when I said I lived in South Korea and someone said:

“Did you have to eat dogs?”

I just say “Yes, dogs are very tasty.”

or “Are there nuclear weapons there?”

“Yeah, my father helped make them. They have a dog restaurant at his work, we go there every weekend!”

“Did you ever eat a dog?”
i also get that a lot when I visit my family in europe because I live in China…
What I usually answer is “not really eat them, just drink their blood, its very healthy you know.”
And then people would freak out :)

Oddly enough, I was asked in Hershey, PA if they had chocolate in Venezuela.

Then the typical “Did you live in a grass hut?” is spewed out. I can’t say I did, especially in the metropolitan city of Caracas. Of course we had chocolate… really thick chocolate.

What’s odd, is they never ask the right questions, like, “Did you bring me coffee?” or “Rum anyone?”.

when i lived in egypt, i got questions such as:

“do you ride camels to school?”
“yeah, if you are lucky you can catch the caravan. other than that you have to walk.”

    “have you seen the pyramids?”
“yeah, they were about 30min from our house. but they get boring after a while.”

(walking on the side of the road in texas in between two buildings at the mall) “hey, do you need a ride?”
    “no, I like walking actually.”
    *baffled stare*

    And then came trinidad . . .
“you live in trinidad? is that in Africa?”
“no, it’s actually off the coast of Venezuela.”
    “where’s Venezuela?”
“never mind. It’s in South America.”

“is cricket that game with the mallet and the little gate things?”
“that’s croquet, which has absolutely nothing to do with cricket”
    “oh, i think i have seen that before . . .”

mmmh… love frogs legs covered in garlic… all yummy and greasy and tender… better than chicken wings. alot less fat to contend with.

Camel rides are PAINFUL! I went on a two hour ride once and I couldn’t walk properly for ages…

I’m still waiting on the leprachaun question, I have plans for it :P but otherwise I’ve had quite a few odd questions… but memory is not doing so hot right now :P
