Communication problems…

I am a TCK and have always had communication problems with people. It’s actually not about the classic “people don’t care about what I did in the past kind of problem”. When two people communicate, person B needs to be able to bring feedback to what person A says, otherwise the communication can not be effective and no friendship can be formed.

I agree with Mairabay that it is very helpful to look for people who have had similar experiences as you've had or at least are openminded.

hey anonymous, I'm not sure if you managed to finish your post, but I think I know how you feel.

Sometimes people from my home country say things about their own culture (example: popular TV shows that I don't watch) and I just feel like I have **nothing** to say.
And I've also experienced the situation where I say something (apparently) normal (to me only!) and they have that blank stare of "I have no idea what you're talking about". In these situations I usually quickly change the subject.

My hint for you is the one I have posted on my blog, look for people around you who have had an international experience or at least have the potential to being more open-minded and understand what you're saying.

Good luck and I hope you come back if you need more help!
