Well, it is hard to believe that it has been a few months since Brice and I started the TCK Academy Expert Interview Summer Series!! The word is out!! The TCK Academy is committed to providing quality programming and helpful information for the benefit of the TCKCCK community via teleclasses and web conferences.

As the Mother of four TCKs, it has been 8 years since I was first introduced to the Third Culture Concept. In that time, I have learned a lot about what it means to have lived and raised my children in this internationally mobile and cross cultural lifestyle.

When Brice first proposed that we team up to share our enthusiasm for and about the TCK/CCK community, I jumped at the opportunity! Over these past months, I have thoroughly enjoyed interviewing and interacting with experts whom have proven an abundant wellspring of knowledge and information.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 30, 2008 @ 6pm Eastern/3pm Pacific for the LAST call in the TCK Academy 2008 Expert Interview Summer Series featuring Terry Kinnard and Kellie Poulin of The Emergent Coach.

In this 75 minute live interview, Kellie and Terry will be discussing a process called Voice Dialogue. Voice Dialogue is a concept, created by Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone that deals with bringing into our awareness, the many parts or Selves that make up what we identify as our personality.

Voice Dialogue is a non-judgmental, experiential process/tool that offers a profound opportunity to increase your awareness about who you are and what it takes be find “home inside”.

Terry and Kellie will be showing how the magic of this experiential tool can help you to embrace the gift of the parts of you that have been lost in the process of coping with constant moving, global exposure, grief and loss as well as issues of repatriation and fitting in.

    I became intrigued enough by this to do a little research via Google. The techniques sound interesting and potentially able to open entirely new ways of thinking. Here is a link to the website of the founders of the technique. They also sell several (reasonably priced) courses on CD/DVD for self help.

    Well the last Teleseminar in our Summer Series of Expert Interviews is over!! I have loved being a part of this unique experience and having had the opportunity to learn from others, share ideas and knowledge!!

    I really want to thank all who joined us and for the rich participation in all of our calls. I really loved the questions that were asked, and I hope that our listeners found the answers and information that was shared by Kellie and Terry helpful and useful.

    From my perspective, I believe that one of the best parts of the Voice dialogue discussion was in Terry and Kellie’s emphasizing that most of the characteristics of TCKs can be both assets and challenges, positive and not so positive, but that everything in this experience should be honored, embraced and valued for what they have done for the individual.

    I look forward to our next series in 2009!!
