Does anyone speak Singlish or Winglish?

Hey, check this out guys (video): The Shan + Rozz Show: EP7 – The Singaporean White Boy

“Shan and Rozz meet a Caucasian kid who speaks perfect Singlish! To prove it, he faces-off with Shan in a Singlish showdown, and the results are HILARIOUS.”

Tyler is obviously a TCK. I wonder if Shan is also a TCK (considering how his Singlish is worse than mine.)

So, do any of you speak Singlish or any other accents or languages (that are not your parents’) like Tyler? How did people react to you?

My TCK animation

Hello everyone,

My name is Grace and I am a Korean TCK who lived in Seoul, LA, Hong Kong, Chicago and currently residing in New York City.

I’m studying animation in graduate school right now and last semester I made a mini-thesis project titled “Listen: A Conversation (TCK story).”
In this animation a conversation between two TCKs reflects the multi-cultured world Third Culture Kids live in. It was a great opportunity to present to my fellow classmates what TCK is all about.

Hope you all enjoy!

Trip to the Tropics video!

Decided to do a short documentary style youtube video on our recent travels: (Tell me what you think of it!)

Video compilation from our trips to Hawaii, Florida, and the Bahamas. Most footage taken by me, with underwater footage taken by my brother. Additional footage taken by my sister.
Footage taken on a simple digital camera with a video recording function. No zoom, no focus or light adjustment, just point and shoot. But the shots turned out pretty good regardless!

And don’t worry, it’s not a bunch of shaky camera work with droning narration. Like I said, we tried to do it documentary style – nicely composed shots, no narration, just music. Enjoy!

American Education v.s World Education (Video)

From the site:

“Regardless of nationality, as soon as a student completes the eighth grade — they have just Two Million Minutes to prepare for college and ultimately a career.

This important documentary examines how students in India and China are being better prepared than American students to compete in a flattening world..”

What are your thoughts about this?

Aerial flight Video!

I made a Youtube video with footage from a flight from Canada to Florida, U.S.A. and put it to music. Tell me what you think! I’m an amateur cinematographer, but my capablities with this were pretty limited because I was just shooting from the film mode of a small digital camera. I still think it turned out fairly well.

Okay, I don’t know how to embed youtube videos directly into my post, so I’ll just paste the address here:

Nodame Cantabile: TCK-y Japanese Drama. Recommended!

I’ve posted a blog about this show before, but Brice and I have been talking about it, and I decided to post some links to the videos here and now. It’s a really interesting story, I have to say. Here’s the link about my previous post on the show: http://www.tckid.com/group/the-fetal-diaries-33-re-there%e2%80%99s-a-tv-show-about-a-tck/

Brice is watching it at the moment… Haha. Oh, good orchestrated music too. Classics, like Beethoven.. And at the same time, the show’s really funny, but there are some… more dramatic, sad breaks too, so it’s very realistic. And the TCK story behind is a plus too. Here’s the link to the first episode (it’s subbed, by the way) :

Also, here’s the link to the rest of the episodes. Start from the bottom up. (Or, well, if you saw the first vid, there’s a link to the next part below the vid… just so you know..)

Brice says he’s loving it. Come on guys, watch it. LOL. Tell me when you have. Be glad to have someone to talk to about it. I give it 2 thumbs up, and I hope you guys will too.
