An Island for TCKs (Post your ideas!)

I’m not sure who had the idea first, but a few TCKs in the chatroom had a crazy idea. They jokingly suggested to petition Obama or any willing Government to give us an island, so we’ll finally have a “home”. So… a week later, we decided to go ahead with it!

Now, we need some possible locations and ideas for names. How would we name the island? Where would it be located?

Please post your ideas here, I think Julie found some great locations..

This is off-topic. I checked “StumbleUpon” and I joined because I think it’s cool. Anyways, it asked me what kinda topics I want to stumble on and they had one for CATS! No Dogs or Rodents or whatnot…just CATS!

Made me wonder…Brice did you add that XD? LOL

Many TCK’s, myself included, either suffer or have suffered from the “grass is greener” syndrome. It is an illusion. We don’t need our own island. Every man needs to build their own island, wherever they find themselves. TCK’s are no exception.

I read yesterday that there are more islands in the Arctic being discovered because of the melting ice up there… If they are being “discovered” that should mean that they are unclaimed. If we can find a way to make them a touch warmer, we can just claim ourselves an island and commence building. :)

I agree with that. On the other hand, if you replace the word “island” with “home”, it makes sense to have a home where everyone is from different cultures and backgrounds. We TCKs feel more at “normal” in multicultural groups anyways, because it represents who we are. :D

But hey, if not an island… how about that boat like Lina suggested? :D

What are the rules for this place? Do you have to be a TCK to be allowed entrance? ‘Cause, seriously, I don’t think I would mind it if 80% of my friends weren’t allowed to come. Also, does anyone have a name? What about Euphoria?

I think you should feel like you have nowhere else you really belong to get “citizenship”. :D So it’s a a place for us to call home, you know? People who are fed up with the country they live in should be allowed too :p But apart from that - people can always visit, it’s not like it’s closed for those who don’t live there.

Okay, but there would have to be some definite regulations on questions that are allowed to be asked. For example, if I’m on the TCK Island, and someone asks me if I speak Ghanish, I’m gonna flip out.

Ah- Lads! I have an idea!
If Obama get’s president, then we can petition to him for an Island right, or help in funding and what not (aren’t presidents always loaded???) for an island!! With a president behind us we could get the pick of the islands!!!

And, hell, if we were to organise a fund raising party, get Obama at it, and people will be forking out in thousands!! or, one of us will just have to marry a billionaire… or several millionaires…
